Job Description

UI/UX Designer - SaaS + Mobile
Orem, UT (Hybrid or Remote within Mountain Time)

Why Fishbowl?
Fishbowl is the leading provider of manufacturing and inventory management software for growing businesses across the U.S. and beyond. Backed by Diversis Capital, we’re building a modern cloud platform and intuitive user experiences that power operations, simplify complexity, and unlock growth for thousands of small and mid-sized businesses.

We’re not just designing features—we’re reimagining how warehouse managers, inventory leads, and operations teams interact with software on the floor, on the road, and at their desk. If you're passionate about simplifying workflows through clean, scalable design and want your work to matter to real people in the real world, Fishbowl is the place.

What You’ll Own

  • Design for Impact: Lead the end-to-end design process across our SaaS web apps, iOS and Android experiences, and internal tools.
  • User Research & Empathy: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and users to understand workflows, identify pain points, and transform insights into thoughtful user-centered design.
  • Mobile + Web Craftsmanship: Design mobile-first and responsive layouts that scale across devices, field conditions, and business contexts.
  • Interaction & Visual Design: Deliver wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and final UI with an emphasis on usability, simplicity, and consistency.
  • Design Systems: Help define and maintain our evolving design system to ensure visual and functional cohesion across products.
  • UX Advocacy: Be a champion of intuitive, delightful experiences by advocating for accessibility, streamlined navigation, and best practices in UX.
  • Collaboration & Delivery: Work side-by-side with product managers and engineers in a fast-paced agile environment. Participate in weekly standups, sprint planning, and design reviews.
  • Iterative Improvements: Use analytics, user feedback, and usability testing to continuously refine experiences post-launch.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience as a product designer or UI/UX designer in a SaaS or tech company, with a strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of end-to-end product design.
  • Multiplatform Design: Deep experience designing for both web applications and native mobile apps (iOS & Android). You understand platform conventions and when to bend or break them.
  • Research-Informed: Adept at user research—both generative and evaluative. Experience conducting interviews, shadowing users, and interpreting usage data.
  • Craft & Detail: Passionate about pixel-perfect design, with excellent visual design skills, a clean aesthetic, and strong grasp of typography, color, and layout.
  • Prototyping Skills: Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC, Framer, or similar).
  • Systems Thinking: Familiarity with building and maintaining design systems across large applications.
  • Collaboration & Communication: You give and receive feedback well, communicate design decisions clearly, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams.
  • Agile Team Experience: You’re comfortable working in 1-2 week sprints and iterating quickly alongside product and engineering teams.
  • Education: Degree in Design, HCI, or related field preferred—but experience and portfolio speak louder.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience designing tools for supply chain, inventory, operations, or field-based teams
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive best practices
  • Ability to conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, or clickstream analysis
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS) to inform handoff

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive Salary + Equity
  • Flexible PTO & Remote Options
  • Full Healthcare with HSA contributions
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Office Perks: Gym, catered lunches, snack bar, Monster energy drinks (if that’s your thing)
  • Professional Growth: Budget for conferences, courses, certifications
  • Culture: Results-focused team environment—work where you're most effective: HQ, home, or hammock.

The Impact You’ll Have
As a UI/UX Designer at Fishbowl, you won’t just polish UI—you’ll shape how essential business tasks get done. You’ll help create the tools that manufacturers and warehouse teams rely on daily to ship goods, track inventory, and manage operations with speed and confidence. Your designs will be used by thousands—and your empathy will be felt in every click.

How We Hire

  1. Intro call with Talent Acquisition
  2. Portfolio review & design conversation
  3. Collaboration interviews with Product & Engineering
  4. Design challenge & feedback session
  5. Leadership chat: alignment, culture, growth
