This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of rural health by guiding innovative programming, growing a sustainable funding base, and championing partnerships that make a tangible impact.

Position Summary

Key responsibilities include the overall management of internal operations, staff (both employees and contractors), financial sustainability, and external relations. The CEO also oversees partnerships with affiliate nonprofit organizations through formal agreements, ensuring mission alignment and operational consistency.

  • Provide leadership across affiliated nonprofit entities in accordance with formal agreements, ensuring strategic coherence and operational alignment.
Fundraising and Financial Management

  • Manage a diverse funding portfolio, including federal/state grants, philanthropic contributions, and earned revenue.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing major gifts, sponsorships, annual giving, and events.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective funders to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Operations and Program Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight of day-to-day operations, including program design, delivery, evaluation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and manage Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, ensuring operational efficiency, financial viability, and alignment with rural health workforce needs.

  • Supervise and support all employees and contracted staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive organizational culture.
  • Promote operational best practices, strong internal controls, and a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Governance and Board Relations
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and long-term organizational success.
  • Plan, coordinate, and document all Board meetings, including preparation of agendas, materials, and official minutes.
  • Provide timely, accurate information to the Board to support informed decision-making and strategic oversight.
  • Support the recruitment, engagement, and development of a dynamic Board of Directors.
